Change management
Change management
Efficient change management
The change management application on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform closes the complete change cycle. For large companies, the change process involves a large number of steps and approvals at each step, while for small engineering teams the change process is not too formal but should still be adequately recorded.
It should be ensured that all relevant people communicate on the same platform and have effective communication and collaboration when making changes.
Change processes
Three (3) Change processes in the 3dexperience platform
Formal
Strukturno i jasno sprovođenje izmena sa analizom uticaja na kompletnu organizaciju i strukturu podataka
Fast-Track
Structural implementation of changes, but only through cross-functional parts of the company where it is not necessary to analyze and make impact assessment of changes in detail
Stand-Alone
The basic recording of the change so that it does not limit the productivity of small teams or individual users.
The formal process
in big companies
Change identification
The first step is a change request
approved users have the right to submit a change request
Specialist evaluation
ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF the CHANGE ON THE ORGANIZATION
The request is analyzed and the proposal approved or rejected
Organizing execution
PLAN OF THE EXPERT TEAM FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CHANGE
Approving the change and splitting it into detailed steps called "Change Action"
Change implementation
EXECUTION AND VALIDATION OF THE IMPLEMENTED CHANGE
Change request
Change Requests (CR)
Before anything related to the change is done, the request for change outlines the desired change so that all key factors can make a decision based on relevant information. If there are is than one change request, they can be grouped into one Change Order (CO)
This is an optional feature that can be used at the user's discretion
Some of the reasons for the changes are related to: price reduction, product innovation, marketing requirements, exploitation errors observed...
Change order
Change Order (CO)
An order is a collection of all the actions, items, and resources needed to make a change. Also defined are persons who control, monitor and approve (all of which can be the same person)
Change feasibility assessment
Change Assesment
Each change order carries the activities that need to be done and the impact of the change is analyzed because some changes may carry a risk that the company is not prepared to withstand. The impact of the change in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform will be visible to all relevant people. Based on the analysis, a decision can be made to approve the change or discontinue all or part of the activities related to the specific change
In the picture we see the items, related specifications and where all the items we want to edit are used
Impact analysis
Impact Analysis
The unique user interface at each stage of the change makes it easy to analyze and validate all activities in the web environment. All modification options are available in both the Catia 3DEXPERIENCE environment and the 3DEXPERIENCE web environment. Very often, the analysis of the impact of the change involves not only technical matters but also commercial-financial ones, so the 3DEXPERIENCE platform also allows this kind of analysis of the impact of the changes.
"Stand Alone" process
For small teams and individual users
Change approval
CHANGE THE STATUS OF APPROVED DOCUMENTS TO BE ABLE TO MAKE CHANGES
From Released status into In Work status
Change implementation
AFTER THE CHANGE, APPROVE THE AMENDED COMPONENTS
This locks them in for further change and gives them a new version or revision (depending on the type of change)
Process for making a change in one step
The user is sufficient to mark the items over which he makes the change, and after the change is made, verify and approve what was done.
Managing a large number of changes
The Change Intelligence application enables you to search and filter many changes, making it easy to get relevant data and make decisions based on it. If you have many years of data collected from different sides then you need a Big data application.
